Hi, I have a HMV "Sprite" But not a Mark 2. I am not a radio buff but understand that this style of radio ran for many years under a few different model names. Does''nt your Sprite have the circuit in the case? Mine runs on 15v 2510 batteries (unbtainable as such these days)

I believe that it may have had the circuit pasted to the back of the unit, but on this radio some kind soul saw fit to remove it. The reason I asked for a circuit is that, when I opened up the radio prior to purchase, the transistors fitted on the main board do not look original. As I enjoy restoring the radios to there former glory, I would like to know what the originals were.Having said that, the unit works well just needs slight adjustments.

Hello, I have a transitor "HVM Sprite". The front is yellow and the rest of the case is red and it is equiped with a 15 V battery. The radio is not working. On the dial disk, I have only a serie of letters, no reference about radio station. So, I ask you more informations about the wave range capted by this kind of transistor. Any way all infos are welkom. Thank you very much in advance Jean-Paul

I have an HMV Sprite Mk2, which I purchased for the sole reason that there is one visible on top of Ma Kent's refrigerator (supposedly in Kansas) in Superman Returns. Mine has the circuit diagram pasted to the inside, and I found the same one posted online at: http://transistor.bigpondhosting.com/circuits/hmv_tropic.jpg My radio is orange and doesn't have a battery. The circuit diagram specifies an Everyready 2510, but does anyone know what type of battery or adapter - or combination of batteries - I would use today to get this to operate?
